International Family came about from the founders of International Institute of Education in Chengdu, China, also known as I2. I2 was founded in 2006 and is set apart from other language institutes in Southwest China by the fact that, in addition to teaching English, it endeavors to bring Western schooling style to the classroom.
The ideology being that catering to the needs of the individual students provides for a greater and more comprehensive learning experience. It was only a natural progression, then, to establish in Chengdu a center for cultural exchange.
